Uyghur Human Rights Week Panels

Uyghur Human Rights Week is a student-organized and student-led effort to raise awareness about the oppression of Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities in China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and beyond.

The event is a series of expert panels on the current human rights crisis for Uyghurs in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Uyghurs are predominantly Muslim ethnic minority that are being persecuted by the Chinese government, including being surveilled and placed in internment camps. Our panels are seeking to raise awareness about the issue, and will cover a variety of topics, including social control measures, actions of Uyghur activists, and the context of Uyghurs in China. Our experts include academics, government officials, and Uyghur activists.

The panels are free and open to the public on Zoom Webinar, although registration is required. Attendees can register at: tinyurl.com/uhrw20.
